Integrations

If these functions are turned OFF for you, it usually means that you have no integrations connected.

Email Integration:

The Email Consent section allows you to configure how email consent is handled within Wheelio.

Hereโ€™s what each option means:

Enable Email Consent: This toggle allows you to turn email consent on or off. Currently, itโ€™s set to OFF.

Required: When set to ON, users must explicitly agree to receive emails based on the provided consent text.

Text Next to Consent Checkbox: The text next to the consent checkbox should include a link to your Terms of Service and Privacy Policy.

Example Consent Text:

โ€œI agree to the Terms of Service and have read our Privacy Policy.โ€

SMS Integration:

The SMS Consent section is similar to the email consent but specifically for SMS communication.

Here are the details:

Enable SMS Consent: This toggle allows you to turn SMS consent on or off. Currently, itโ€™s set to OFF.

Required: When set to ON, users must explicitly agree to receive SMS messages based on the provided consent text.

Consent Text Example:

โ€œI agree to receive recurring automated text messages at the phone number provided. This consent is not a condition for purchase.โ€

Double Opt-In

Double opt-in is a method used by businesses and organizations to confirm an individual's subscription to a service or mailing list. It involves an initial signup step followed by a confirmation step.

Here's how it typically works:

  1. Signup: The individual expresses interest in subscribing to a service, newsletter, or mailing list by providing their email address or other contact information.

  2. Confirmation Email: After the initial signup, the individual receives a confirmation email asking them to confirm their subscription. This email usually includes a link or a button for the user to click to confirm their subscription.

  3. Confirmation Action: The individual must take action, such as clicking the confirmation link, to confirm their subscription. This confirms that the user actually wants to receive communications from the organization.

Double opt-in offers several benefits:

  • Reduced Spam Complaints: Since users must confirm their subscription, it reduces the likelihood of spam complaints because only individuals who genuinely want to receive communications will confirm.

  • Better Data Quality: Since subscribers confirm their email addresses, it ensures that the organization's mailing list contains valid and active email addresses.

  • Compliance: In some jurisdictions, double opt-in is required by law or is considered a best practice for compliance with data protection regulations such as GDPR (General Data Protection Regulation).

Overall, double opt-in helps organizations build more engaged and responsive mailing lists while also ensuring compliance with regulations and maintaining good email sending practices.
